Does Your Loved One Need Safer Housing Options?

The holiday season may have provided the perfect opportunity to reunite with family members, especially with parents and grandparents. As you reflect on your visit, did you note changes in your loved one’s behavior or living style? These may be warning signs.

Consider the following signs to understand if it is time to consider the need for additional care solutions:

-Refrigerator and kitchen concerns. Was there outdated food or very little food present? Are you concerned about the stove or microwave usage?

-Vehicle issues. Did you note any new dents or dings?

-Household affairs. Were there unpaid bills or unanswered time-sensitive correspondence? Was the bathroom and living space clean and in expected condition?

-Medications. Were medications being taken as directed? Did you notice expired bottles in the medicine cabinet?

-Friends or neighbors. Did they express any concerns about your loved one?

-Overall decline. Consider marked changes in memory or self-care from the previous visit.

If you noted one or more of these warning signs, it may be time to consider safer care solutions. CarePatrol’s Certified Senior Advisors® are ready to provide guidance, resources and support, all at no cost to you.
