We Are A Team

In spite of what we see in the news reports, healthcare workers in the senior care industry are fighting hard against a horrific situation to do all they can to protect our seniors.

I continue to tell everyone I work within the senior communities – those that market to residents, serve the meals, manage the meds, hand out face masks, staff the caregivers, clean the bathrooms, wipe the butts and give the showers – we are a team.  It takes all of us working together to protect not just the seniors, but also each other.

We are surrounded by fear, sickness, and in some cases death. But we need to be proud of the work we have done in the senior care industry, even as we strive to do better.  There is still much to do.  As we start to reopen, there will be flare-ups and lingering cases.  Our elderly and immune-compromised patients will still be at risk. Our approach to senior care will be changed, and it should be.
